Eaza Shukla is a recent graduate of Ringling College in Sarasota, FL. She was studying Character Animation in hopes of working in feature films. For students in the CA (Character Animation) program, the final 2 years is essentially devoted to creating a thesis film.
These films force the students to engage every part of the process from writing, storyboarding, designing, modeling, rigging, animation, lighting, compositing and final edit. It’s a very difficult thing to do, but when it’s done well it can launch an artists career. It is typically the most substantial portfolio piece students walk away with to market their services to animation studios like Disney, Pixar, Sony, Blue Sky and others.
Not only did Eaza Shukla complete her film, she was also nominated for a student academy award. She was among three finalists for the honor. We asked Eaza if she’d do a short video call with us and give us more back story on her film and where she will be headed next.
